HERE IS A CHART LOOKING AT THE NUMBER OF NEW CASES EACH DAY OVER THE PAST MONT THE STATE REPORTED 5300 NEW CASES ON WEDNESDAY. IT’S STILL MUCH HIGHER THAN THE PREVIOUS TWO WEEKS. THE STATE WILL RELEASE TH OFFICIAL NUMBERS FOR YESTERDAY IN A FEW HOURS. WE EXPECT TO SEE ANOTHER HIGH NUMBER. ACCORDING TO JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY. CALIFORNIA HAS HAD NEARLY 5200 CASES IN THE PAST 24 HOURS. THE STATE HAS NOW TOPPED 200,000 CASES. MEANWHILE, THE NUMBER OF DEATHS WAS UP 81 SINCE THIS TIME YESTERDAY. 5800 CALIFORNIANS HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF THE VIRUS. WHILE CALIFORNIA SETS RECORDS FOR DAILY NEW CASES. Sacramento County added to coronavirus state watch list

Sacramento County has been added to the state’s coronavirus watch list after a spike in hospitalizations. There was a 29.1% change in the three-day average of hospitalized patients, according to the state’s COVID-19 county data monitoring chart. “Drivers of this include community transmission due to holiday gatherings amongst large families,” the California Department of Public Health said. The state is monitoring several counties — including San Joaquin and Stanislaus — because of elevated disease transmission, increasing hospitalization rates and limited hospital capacity.As of Thursday morning, Sacramento County had 2,512 confirmed cases and 66 COVID-19 deaths. There were 61 coronavirus patients in the hospital and 14 in ICUs, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard. SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Sacramento County has been added to the state’s coronavirus watch list after a spike in hospitalizations.

There was a 29.1% change in the three-day average of hospitalized patients, according to the state’s COVID-19 county data monitoring chart.

“Drivers of this include community transmission due to holiday gatherings amongst large families,” the California Department of Public Health said.
