Ohio woman fighting COVID-19 is sedated, unaware she delivered

Megan’s signs started slow: a cold and a fever, pains and discomforts, and what seemed like a sinus infection or cold. Since she was 7 months pregnant, she was tested for the coronavirus.
Shaun Jeffries says in just “24 hours’ time, the method it advanced, it was mean. That’s the only way to put it: it was a mean infection.”
Megan worked as a nurse. Shaun states she knew what she was up against as she went to the healthcare facility. “She was sobbing to my mama, saying she does not want to pass away. That best there informs you she knew enough and what she was going through.”

Megan was sedated, then placed on what’s called an ECMO machine. Shaun states, “Already they’re saying that’s the last thing. That’s the last thing we can try and do.”
Megan improved somewhat. She’s now on a ventilator. The child was checked two times for coronavirus and was unfavorable each time. He’s now in the NICU.
