House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday stated people demanding extra direct financing for states in federal rescue legislation ought to “simply cool down” and swore that Democrats will secure the money in later rounds of legislating in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

” Just relax,” Mrs. Pelosi, California Democrat, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “We will have state and local, and we will have it in a very considerable method.”

Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin on Sunday left open the possibility that extra financing for states and regions might be part of the next plan.

” This will be something that both the Senate and the House debate,” Mr. Mnuchin stated on “Fox News Sunday.” “This is something we’ll consider, however our focus right now is actually on execution.”

Congress did include about $150 billion for states and regions in earlier legislation, but that money needed to be for expenditures straight tied to the break out. The Democrats’ needs for more state cash was overlooked of the almost $500 billion rescue bundle that passed Congress last week.
