More Greenville restaurants close, while downtown eatery reopens after positive COVID-19 tests

More Greenville restaurants made announcements Thursday about closings or positive tests amid the coronavirus outbreak, while a downtown restaurant that had closed last week has reopened.

Halls Chophouse

Halls Chophouse Greenville, on Main Street, announced that two employees tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.

The statement from Jim Wahlstrom, director of human resources and operations for Hall Management Group, did not say that the restaurant was closing.

“We just want to be safe, do our part, and help set us all back on the right track of flattening the curve of COVID-19,” the post said.

Urban Wren

On Wednesday, Urban Wren, on Markley Street, posted the news on its Facebook page.

The restaurant said one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee was asymptomatic and has not worked since Saturday, according to the post.

The person tested recently because they came into contact with someone else affected by the coronavirus.

Barley’s Taproom and Pizzaria, on West Washington Street, in Greenville, made the announcement on its Facebook page Tuesday that a staff member had tested positive. The restaurant on Washington Street would remain closed until all staff were tested and the building sanitized, the owner said.
