Governor Tate Reeves newest executive order in which 13 counties will be required to wear masks in public goes into effect Monday.Mississippians have mixed reactions to the newest mandate by the governor.Lorenzo Bailey, who is a basketball coach, said the mask mandate is necessary.”We have to do something to slow this pandemic down. We need to get order of it and see can we move forward because it is taking a toll on so many families,” Bailey said. Bailey said there was a downside with mandating masks during dangerous heat days.”It’s hot. It’s really hard to breath out of the mask,” Bailey said. “Personally, I don’t wear a mask when I am outside of a store. I can’t breathe in them when it gets really hot outside.” Governor Reeves said the mandate will remain in place until July 20, or until cases begin to decline in the affected areas. The 13 affected counties include Hinds, Rankin, Madison, DeSoto, Harrison, Jackson, Washington, Sunflower, Grenada, Claiborne, Jefferson, Wayne and Quitman. Governor Tate Reeves newest executive order in which 13 counties will be required to wear masks in public goes into effect Monday.

Mississippians have mixed reactions to the newest mandate by the governor.

Lorenzo Bailey, who is a basketball coach, said the mask mandate is necessary.

“We have to do something to slow this pandemic down. We need to get order of it and see can we move forward because it is taking a toll on so many families,” Bailey said.
