An armed guy is dead after hijacking a bus and leading authorities on a chase and shootout that hurt two officers in the Dallas location on Sunday early morning.
Authorities received a call at 11: 00 a.m. regional time that a man got in a bus and fired a weapon, shooting out a number of bus windows, according to a statement from Dallas Area Rapid Transit. The male then allegedly demanded the DART bus driver take them to an undisclosed area.
One DART officer was apparently wounded in the leg and another Garland officer likewise sustained a non-life threatening injury, the transit authority stated.

Authorities in the Dallas suburb of Garland began to go after the bus and as officers neared, the guy apparently shot at them while leaning out the windows, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
Spikes were deployed on the bus, however the vehicle turned around and headed to Rowlett, another Dallas suburb, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
The bus passed through several jurisdictions, including Richardson, Garland, Rowlett and Rockwall, while taking a trip on the President George Bush Turnpike.
It was in Rowlett where the pursuit ended, after spikes were set on the roadway to the location.
The suspect exchanged gunfire with authorities after leaving the bus and was pronounced dead at the scene, DART informed NBC News in a statement.
The Rowlett Police Department did not right away respond to an ask for remark from NBC News.
