Coronavirus: Orange County has tested more than 18,000 people as of April 20

The Orange County Health Care Agency reported 1,676 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of Monday, April 20. There were 22 of 25 hospitals reporting today.

One new death was reported in Orange County, according to the update. That means 33 people have died in the county from the virus.

Monday’s update noted another 41 new cases of the virus and another 772 people tested. The total number of people tested in the county is 18,766 – that works out to about 58 residents per 10,000 in the county of more than 3.2 million.

The number of people reported hospitalized in Orange County by the coronavirus was 144 on Sunday; 56 of those required treatment in intensive care units. That data was from the 24 hospitals reporting.

Monday there were 128 hospitalized with 42 in the ICU and just 22 hospitals reporting.
