Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms advised citizens to “just stay at home” Friday as some Georgia organisations are resuming.

” Just stay at home. Listen to the researchers. There is nothing important about going to a bowling alley or getting a manicure in the middle of a pandemic,” Bottoms stated in an appearance on ABC’s Great Morning America when host George Stephanopoulos asked her what message she wishes to get to the people of Georgia.

” It is needed that we continue to distance ourselves. To the level that we’ve had any type of relief in this state it’s since we have been aggressive, specifically in the metro-Atlanta location, in socially distancing and asking people to stay at home,” Bottoms said.

Georgia Guv Brian Kemp announced Monday that the state would be allowing some businesses, including tattoo parlors, hairdresser, and bowling streets, to reopen.

” Informed by the Coronavirus Job Force and public health officials, opening up America again consists of three phases to securely resume and get folks back to work,” Kemp stated Monday, referencing the “Opening America Again” guidelines released by the White Home.

” We are still having thousands upon thousands of individuals checking positive.

Georgia has 21,883 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 881 deaths as of 6 p.m. ET Thursday, according to the Georgia Department of Health.

Kemp sent out a series of tweets Thursday on his decision to resume businesses.

Now, with favorable information and approval from state health officials, we are taking another measured step forward by opening shuttered services for limited operations. I know these hardworking Georgians will focus on the security of their employees and customers. (4/5) #gapol
