1,143 coronavirus cases in the South Bay: Which communities have the most?

As of Tuesday, April 14, 2020, there were at least 1,143 documented cases of the novel coronavirus in South Bay communities, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

The county’s data is generally released between 2 and 3 p.m., and it covers the period of time ending at 11: 59 p.m. the previous day.

Between Monday and Tuesday, there were 55 new cases in the South Bay area.

The South Bay communities with the most cases of COVID-19 are Torrance with 153, Carson with 129, and Inglewood with 127.

Outside of the South Bay, communities in the Long Beach area have a total of 51 cases.

Numbers for Long Beach are provided by that city’s health department. Other numbers are from LA County.

There could be more cases in any of these areas. The county is still investigating 739 possible COVID-19 cases and hasn’t yet released information on where those patients live in the county.

And due to the limited availability of COVID-19 tests, officials have said there are many more people infected with the novel coronavirus than are represented in these numbers.

As of 11: 59 p.m. Monday, April 13 across Los Angeles County, the health departments of LA County and the cities of Pasadena and Long Beach have recorded 10,075 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Of the 10,075 patients with positive COVID-19 tests, 2,517 have been hospitalized.

There have been 366 deaths in the county due to the virus.
