This is the second staff member to test positive, says Director Scott Frakes

Nebraska Department of Corrections confirms a second employee tested positive for COVID-19.The staff member works at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center and has been in isolation at home for five days, said Corrections Director Scott Frakes.Health investigators believe the person did not have any close contact with other staff members or inmates.The Department of Corrections will take additional measures to check the temperature of any person who worked in the same housing unit, said Director Frakes.All inmates have been issued masks and the Department of Corrections confirms no inmates have tested positive for coronavirus.“We have been fortunate, but we have also worked very hard to flatten the curve within our system,” said Director Frakes.

The staff member works at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center and has been in isolation at home for five days, said Corrections Director Scott Frakes.

Health investigators believe the person did not have any close contact with other staff members or inmates.

The Department of Corrections will take additional measures to check the temperature of any person who worked in the same housing unit, said Director Frakes.
