Twenty-one percent of Jackson County’s cases are people between age 50 and 59, while 23 percent are people 40 to 49. The percentage of people 60 to 69 with COVID-19 is at 22 percent.

Positive COVID-19 results from the prisons in Jackson County are not included in the health department’s data.

No new cases were reported at the Parnall Correctional Facility, leaving the total at 162 inmates who tested positive, as of Wednesday, per the Michigan Department of Corrections. Seventeen prisoners have tested negative, and three are awaiting test results. Of the inmates who tested positive, 58 have recovered and been moved to a Step-Down Unit where the prisoners aren’t in contact with others, according to MDOC.

There have been no new Parnall employee COVID-19 cases, and the total remains at 63, according to MDOC.

No new inmate deaths have occurred at the prison due to COVID-19, and total deaths remain at four.

Two new cases were reported at the Duane Waters Health Center as of Wednesday. There are 18 positive cases of COVID-19 at the health center and 18 negative tests.
