ONCE AGAIN, ENCOURAGED IOWANS TO WEAR A MASK WHILE IN PUBLIC BUT HAS YET TO PULL THE TRIGGER ON A MANDATE. Iowa Department of Public Health data continues to show increasing coronavirus hospitalizations in the state.As of 10 a.m. Monday, IPDH reported 469 new positive COVID-19 cases and 3 additional deaths. There have been 42,485 positive cases, 29,729 recoveries and 829 deaths in Iowa since the pandemic began. As of 10 a.m. Sunday, IDPH had reported 42,016 total cases and 826 total deaths.IDPH reported 455,740 Iowans have been tested for the virus, with one of 7 Iowans tested and one of 74 testing positive. IDPH reported 5,198 Iowans tested Sunday, with a 7.2% positivity rate.More Iowans have been hospitalized with the virus as those numbers have been increasing since the beginning of July. IDPH reported 241 Iowans hospitalized with coronavirus, up from 226 the previous day. There are 78 patients listed in intensive care, up from 77 the previous day. There are 32 patients on ventilators, up from 29 the previous day. There were 30 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, down from 34 the previous day.IDPH reported approximately 3,670 available inpatient beds in the state, with 482 ICU beds and 767 ventilators available.There are now coronavirus outbreaks in 22 of Iowa’s long-term care facilities. IDPH reported 630 current positive cases within those facilities, with 150 recoveries.
