Election-year legal battles over voting procedures are absolutely nothing new. Their scope and strength are growing this year amid deep partisan polarization and the logistical obstacles provided by the coronavirus pandemic. The legal battles are anticipated to warm up in the coming weeks.

Many other cases are already working their method through the courts.
