The ‘View What Happens Live’ host closed his program Thursday night by describing how he wished to assist after he recuperated from coronavirus so he registered to offer plasma … which the FDA has an immediate need for due to the fact that it’s abundant in antibodies.

Cohen states he’s ineligible as a gay man, though, due to out-of-date and unreasonable guidelines to prevent HIV. Andy mentions even the more just recently unwinded rules need gay men to abstain from sex for 3 months, regardless of their relationship status … when there are “no such blanket restrictions” for straight individuals.

Basically, Cohen thinks it’s oblivious to leave out members of the gay community who might assist in saving lives and fight COVID-19 at such a vital time … particularly when all blood is easily evaluated for HIV, anyhow.

So, he’s advocating modification, stating … “This pandemic has required us to adapt in numerous ways. We’re quarantining. We’re social distancing. We’re wearing masks. Why can’t we adapt when it concerns this guideline?”

As we reported … ‘GMA’ anchor George Stephanopoulos recuperated from the virus and prepares to donate plasma, however didn’t point out having any roadblocks.
