]]>The cause of death for country singer Cady Groves, who died in May at age 30, has been revealed.
The singer, known for hits like “This Little Girl” and “Oil and Water,” died of complications of chronic ethanol abuse, an autopsy report from the Davidson County Medical Examiner’s Office in Tennessee obtained by Fox News confirmed.
Groves’ manner of death was ruled “natural,” the report states.

According to the medical examiner, Groves was discovered “unresponsive in bed by her roommate” in Brentwood, Tenn. on May 2. Nashville Fire personnel responded to the scene. At the time, officers reported “no obvious signs of trauma, foul play, suicide or overdose.”
Her brother Cody Groves took to Twitter to confirm her passing with a sweet photo of the two of them acting silly together. In addition to confirming the news, he revealed she died of natural causes and referenced their two brothers, Casey and Kelly, who died in 2007 and 2014, respectively.
“@cadygroves has left this world. Details are limited right now but family is trying to get them and will keep people updated. Rest In Peace little sis. Hope you’re reunited with @kellydgroves and Casey,” Cody wrote Sunday.

In the days following her death, Ryan Williams, a close friend of the singer-songwriter, opened up to Fox News about her tragic past.
Williams, of Seattle, Wash., said he met Groves in 2011 just one week after she moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and was signed to a major record label. He told us Groves had a contagious personality and the ability to light up any room.
“I was always concerned for Cady. She was like another young sister to me,” Williams said. “It goes hand in hand with her creativity. Whatever she was feeling, whether it was happy or the opposite, it just fully engulfed her emotionally, which made for wonderful art but it did take a toll on her.”
Williams recalled Groves reeling from a “tragic family past.” Two of her brothers passed away, one of whom Groves was close to in age. The singer-songwriter found healing in her music but it didn’t eliminate the traumas she encountered.

“Her dad wasn’t really around anymore and music was really tough on her as well,” Williams said. “She had so many tragic things happen to her in her life. There was always someone’s birthday that wasn’t around anymore, like her brothers. There was always kind of like a dark shadow around her.”
The pal said Groves found healing through her music.
“She had a vision. She was constantly going back and forth with the label and her management because she wanted to get things right. She really cared,” he shared.

Five or six years ago Groves was dropped from her record label after having recorded and produced 30 to 40 songs that have still never been released, the friend revealed.
Despite somber events in her life, Williams said she’ll “be remembered for always making jokes.”

]]>A single-vehicle crash in Tennessee on Saturday night resulted in the death of the 27-year-old daughter of country music singer Hank Williams Jr., according to reports.
Katherine Williams-Dunning was behind the wheel of a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, driving south on Highway 79 in Henry County, when the vehicle crossed the median and began rolling over, WSMV-TV of Nashville reported.

The vehicle, which was towing a boat, crossed into the northbound lanes and came to a stop on the shoulder of the road, the report said.
Williams-Dunning’s husband, Tyler Dunning, 29, was injured in the crash and airlifted to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver’s brother, Sam Williams, announced the crash in a Facebook post.
“My sister and brother in law have been in a terrible accident. Please pray for them so hard! Katie Williams and Tyler Dunning,” Williams wrote.

Their father, Hank Williams Jr., 71, is known for the song, “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight,” which he rewrote as a theme song for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.

“I’ve been terrified to post this for a while– but it feels like it’s time for me to be honest,” Jon Steingard, the frontman for the band Hawk Nelson, wrote in the caption of a lengthy note on May 20.

After Steingard switched from guitarist to lead vocalist in 2012, the band, formed in 2000 from Peterborough, Ontario, shifted from fast-paced punk rock to more contemporary Christian music with songs like “Drops in the Ocean,” which he said he can “no longer sing” in good conscience.
“This is not a post I ever thought that I would write, but now I feel like I really need to,” Steingard wrote, explaining the loss of faith didn’t happen overnight and it came with questions about God, the Bible, and his upbringing in a Christian home.
Steingard received an outpouring of support from fellow Christian singers.
“Love you bro. Always will,” said Jeremy Camp, on whom the Christian film “I Still Believe” is based.

The musician’s rep confirmed Bowden’s death to Fox News on Tuesday morning.
“This is a terrible tragedy which appears to be a tragic accident. Our children Austin, Griffin and Kia, and I are devastated. Out of respect for Paddy, we won’t be making any further comment at this hugely difficult and painful time for our family,” Dickinson, 61, shared via his rep.

According to The Independent, Bowden was discovered at the couple’s home in Chiswick, London, on Monday. The report says an ambulance was called to the scene at 9:42 a.m. but she was already pronounced dead upon their arrival.

Bowden was Dickinson’s second wife. The pair tied the knot in 1990 but split last year after 29 years of marriage.
The metal singer is rumored to be dating fitness instructor Leana Dolci.

]]>SHORELINE, Wash. (AP) — Disease trackers are calling a choir practice in Washington state a superspreader event that illustrates how easily the coronavirus can pass from person to person.
The act of singing itself may have spread the virus in the air and onto surfaces, according to a report from Skagit County Public Health published Tuesday.
“One individual present felt ill, not knowing what they had, and ended up infecting 52 other people,” said lead author Lea Hamner, calling the outbreak a tragedy.
Two choir members died of COVID-19 after attending the March 10 practice of the Skagit Valley Chorale. The rehearsal was held nearly two weeks before the state’s stay-at-home order.
Other superspreader events are known: A Chicago cluster of 16 cases, including three deaths, stemmed from a funeral and a birthday party. South Korea is investigating an outbreak linked to nightclubs reopening earlier this month.
The singers sat 6 to 10 inches apart in different configurations during the 2 1/2 hour rehearsal at a church in Mount Vernon, Washington, about 60 miles north of Seattle, according to the report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Choir members had no physical contact, although some snacked on cookies and oranges or helped stack chairs, they told investigators. The virus could have spread when exhaled droplets landed on those items.
Another theory? A fine mist of virus particles emitted during singing could have contributed, the report suggests. Some people emit more particles than others and such emissions can happen with loud talking or, possibly, singing.
The virus is thought to primarily spread through droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
The singers felt their first symptoms — cough, fever, muscle pain or headaches — one to 12 days after the practice. The sick singers’ average age was 69 and most were women, nearly matching the demographics of choir practice attendees.
Understanding how the coronavirus spreads is important for preventing and tracking the disease it causes. The CDC recommends avoiding large groups, wearing cloth masks in public and staying at least 6 feet apart from others.
