]]>“Democrats have no issues lying… while minority communities suffer,” said author Candace Owens on Wednesday amid the increase of crime in liberal cities across the country.
Owens was blasting Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., for apparently rejecting the crime uptick in Democratic-run cities in an earlier segment of “Mornings with Maria” with host Maria Bartiromo.
“It is unfathomable that he can stand in the face and pretend that minority communities are not suffering from a 200% increase in inner cities, and sometimes higher in inner cities, of shootings compared to this time last year,” Owens told “Mornings with Maria.”
MURDERS IN NYC, ST. LOUIS SURGE THIS YEAR, TOP 2019 NUMBERS, DATA SHOWS
New data shows that murder rates in New York City and St. Louis have surged this year, surpassing 2019 figures. In the Missouri urban center, the Thursday killing of a 24-year-old woman marked the city’s 195th homicide this year.
In 2019, there were 194 homicides in total, according to The Associated Press.
St. Louis has seen a spike in shootings – both fatal and nonfatal – since the beginning of the summer. The city is among a group of cities where federal law enforcement agents were sent this summer to help fight gun violence under the Operation Legend program.
Operation Legend was named after 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed while sleeping in his father’s Kansas City, Mo., apartment on June 29.
Thus far, the federal task force has made more than 1,000 arrests in high-crime cities across the country, according to U.S. Attorney General William Barr.
The Big Apple has seen gun violence skyrocket, with at least 1,000 recorded cases of gunplay since Jan. 1.
According to an August report in The New York Post, by the same time last year there had been just 537 shootings.

Owens claimed that the crime increase is due to Democrats “pushing to criminalize our law enforcement officers as they do with everything that is good for the minority community.”
“This is the reason why, as you are observing in the polls, Maria, that Black Americans’ support just keeps going up, and up and up for Donald J. Trump because of people like the congressmen who can just brazenly look in your face and lie and say, ‘What are you talking about, Maria? We’re not trying to defund the police. None of our leaders are.’ He’s trying to hide behind Joe Biden. Joe Biden is not an elected official in this country.”
Owens went on to say, “I am so disgusted by everything I have just heard in this last segment and it is exactly why I have been calling for a Black exit from the Democrat Party.”

In a weekend interview on “Life, Liberty, & Levin,” Owens noted that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar — who has spoken out about his “tough” life as a Black man in America “lives in a one hundred million dollar mansion in Bel Air.”
“I always say, if you’re suffering through racism, please give me some of that,” she told Mark Levin.

“He’s got a White gardener, a White chef, all various White people that work for him, White driver,” she continued. “So if that’s racism, LeBron, please, please share some of that with the rest of us.”
Owens, the author of the recent book “Blackout: How Black America Can Make Its Second Escape from the Democratic Plantation,” later described a newfound support among celebrities and high profile figures who avoid publicly discussing their personal politics for fear of public backlash amid racial tension in the country, she told Levin.
“If I opened my inbox and showed you the amount of celebrities that have written to me privately, that silent majority that we’re always talking about, they’ve written to me and said, ‘I’m finally starting to see the truth. I can’t stand being in Hollywood. I’m not allowed to use my voice to say what I actually believe,” Owens said.
“These are the same celebrities that are actually posting the black squares on Instagram and saying ‘we must care about Black lives.’ And they’re saying they’re doing it basically under duress because if they don’t, they’ll lose their entire careers.

Owens dismissed the notion that “things aren’t shifting just because we see people like LeBron James and the NBA painting Black Lives Matter on the ground.
She added: “There is something shaking and something happening in this country, and more and more people are awake and alive to what is really at risk, which is really the values and the principles that this country was built upon.”

]]>Retired NFL player Burgess Owens explained why he is running for Utah’s 4th Congressional District, arguing that “the young people that I’ve been trying to fight for and give hope to do not have a chance in our country as long as the Democrats keep power.”
Owens, a Fox News contributor, told “Sunday Morning Futures” in an exclusive interview that Democratic leaders are people who “have no empathy for anyone else” and “love misery.”
“Misery is a strategy and you look at every single blue city in our country, you see death, you see destruction, you see anger,” Owens said referencing the violent protests in cities across the country following the death of George Floyd, a Black man, in Minneapolis police custody.
“If you want to see systemic racism look for Democratic cities and you see more Black people upset and hopeless than ever before so we have to understand that it is all about policies,” he continued.
He added, “I don’t care whether you’re poor, middle class or very wealthy, if you care about our kids, if you care about our kid’s future, we need to make sure we take away control of their future from Democrats and from this party that uses misery as a political strategy.”
The former safety for the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders stressed that America needs “to go in the right direction now.”
Owens expressed his support for President Trump during the Republican National Convention last month.
In his RNC speech, Owens shared that after his Super Bowl championship with the Oakland Raiders, he lost everything and moved his family of six into a one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn where he took a job as a chimney sweep during the day and a security guard at night.
“We live in a country where we’re encouraged to dream big, where second chances are at the core of our American DNA,” Owens said during his RNC speech.
“We don’t hear that same message from [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi’s Congress, career politicians, elitists and even a former bartender who want us to believe it’s impossible. They want us to believe that what I did, what my great, great grandfather did is impossible for ordinary Americans.”
Host Maria Bartiromo noted that President Trump got a bump in the poles from Black voters following the RNC.
She then asked Owens, “What is the feeling among the Black community in your view as it relates to President Trump and his policies?”
“What we have to understand about our country is that no matter what our color is, our background, our creed, our religion we all want the same thing; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and the Black community has been dealing with a death of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for decades because we’ve trusted the Democratic Party,” Owens said in response.

He added, “What’s happening today is [in] the last three years … Black Americans, Hispanics, Asians, women, veterans are finally realizing we have a president who just doesn’t talk the talk and gives promises, he’s giving results.”
Owens went on to say, “we’re experiencing things that we have not experienced in decades and because of that Black Americans are waking up and are leaving the plantation.”
“The greatest thing that President Obama did was that he was such a lousy president, that people woke up one day and said, ‘What happened to hope and change?’ And that’s what’s going on today,” he continued. “We’re realizing that the middle class and the poor suffered tremendously over eight years of Obama-Biden and we’re seeing now that it doesn’t have to be that way.”
Owens stressed that Americans “don’t have to have this low expectation that we’ve had for at-risk people so we’re now waking up.”

“We have Black Americans across this country to wear MAGA hats because they are well over being intimidated, being called names,” he added. “We love our country, we love our kids, we love our future and we want to be hopeful so that’s what we see happening right now.”

]]>Utah U.S. House candidate Burgess Owens defended Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder last week, after the coach faced criticism for donating twice to Republican Owens’ campaign.
Owens, a former NFL defensive back and Super Bowl champion, is a critic of Black Lives Matter and racial injustice protests by NBA players — while Snyder has been a vocal supporter of BLM and has kneeled with his team during the national anthem, the Salt Lake City Tribune reported.
“How much do ‘black lives matter’ to the people upset that a good man donated to the states ONLY BLACK CANDIDATE running for Congress, because he disagrees with their stance on BLM Inc.,” Owens tweeted Friday along with a retweet of a Tribune article reporting the donations. “Do black lives only matter when they think how you tell them to?”

TRUMP SLAMS NBA AS A ‘POLITICAL ORGANIZATION’
Tribune reporter Andy Larson wrote that Snyder’s two $500 donations to Owens, made in May and June, were “likely to surprise some given the public stances of the two men.”
Last month, Owens told Fox News the U.S. was at a crossroads and called Black Lives Matter “Marxist.”
“We have one vision that says we the people are empowered by education, and we will give that power to the people and the other side is they want to empower themselves by stealing our education, stealing our history,” he told “The Story” host Martha MacCallum. “For those who can go to Google, you’ll find out that BLM inc. is nothing but a Marxist organization.”
Larson responded to Owens’ tweet Friday, writing “no one is attacking Quin here. This was public record, and public knowledge, widely discussed in Jazz circles. People asked us what happened here, I explained it. I like Quin.”
On Saturday, Owens denounced personal attacks on Larson by some on social media.
“While I think the criticism on the article is very fair. I’m noticing a lot of personal attacks on Andy I don’t believe are fair, or right,” Owens tweeted. “Argue content, argue what’s ‘news’ but never forget you’re talking to another human being who just sees things a little differently.”

Larson reported that Snyder declined to comment on the donations.
After winning a GOP House primary June 30, Owens will face Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Ben McAdams for Utah’s 4th Congressional District seat in November, FOX 13 reported.

]]>Cardi B and Candace Owens engaged in a harsh back-and-forth Sunday evening after the conservative commentator called her “illiterate” and an unwitting tool of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The feud began Sunday evening after Owens, 31, shared a clip of her appearance on “The Ben Shapiro Show: Sunday Special.” Owens accused the Democrat of pandering to Black Americans and Cardi B of being an unknowing pawn in the process.
“It is one of the biggest insults. If black Americans are not insulted by the fact that Joe Biden, who has been hiding in his basement, you know, for the entire year, made an appearance to come out because he was going do an interview with Cardi B. Do we have nothing better to offer?” Owens says in the clip she shared on Twitter.
“[Joe Biden], you are pandering. You look at Cardi B’s Instagram, and you see she has millions of followers, and you think, ‘OK, this is an illiterate person, and if I appeal to this illiterate person’ … ‘They think she’s cool,’” Owens says. “’She’s hip just by sitting here and taking this interview. Black people will vote for me.’ It’s basically saying, ‘Black people, you are stupid, you are dumb, and you are so foolish.'”
Owens was referring to an interview with Cardi B that Biden took part in last month for Elle magazine. The “WAP” rapper spoke about her fears as a Black woman in America and how she’s already thinking about the safety of her 2-year-old daughter.
Cardi B fired back at the notion that she was being used by Biden to cater to Black voters. She referenced her sister Hennessy Carolina and her sister’s girlfriend getting into a verbal altercation with what she called “racist MAGA supporters” during a recent beach trip to the Hamptons as an example of the lingering prevalence of racism in the U.S.
“You wanna know why joe gotta talk to me Candice cause I have the #1 song & yet my sister can’t go to the beach in the Hampton’s wit out trump supporters harassing cause they were by themselves,” Cardi B tweeted.

The war of words continued on Instagram and Twitter through Monday morning, with Owens slamming Cardi B for hypocrisy over her calls to defund police and critique of the U.S.
“Never listen to a person that has private security but wants the public police defunded. Never listen to a multimillionaire that made it here in America, but trashes our country,” Owens tweeted. “These Hollywood idols are frauds, leading sheep down paths they never took when they discovered success.”
