]]>Joe Biden has already addressed the issue of crime in America’s cities, Biden Campaign Chair Cedric Richmond insisted Thursday.
In an interview on “Fox & Friends,” host Brian Kilmeade asked the Louisiana congressman why the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee had not weighed in on rising crime in cities like New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.

“Well, the vice president has weighed in on crime in our inner cities. If you look at his one criminal justice reform plan – or, better yet, look at his economic plan or his ‘Lift Every Voice’ plan for the African-American community,” Richmond replied.
In the Lift Every Voice plan, Biden promises to “pursue evidence-based measures to root out persistent violent crime” and hold offenders accountable.
He also commits to addressing gun violence by creating a $900-million, eight-year initiative to “fund evidence-based interventions in 40 cities across the country – the 20 cities with the highest number of homicides, and 20 cities with the highest number of homicides per capita.”
He says the proposal is estimated to save more than 12,000 lives over the course of the program.
In the former vice president’s Plan for Strengthening America’s Commitment to Justice, Biden calls for a $300 million infusion into federal community policing grant programs and aims to spend more federal money on education, social services, and struggling areas, to address the root causes of crime.

“But, what about reacting to the news?” Kilmeade wondered. “And, that’s what we’re seeing now.”
As more Democratic lawmakers commit to redistributing police funding, major cities have seen an alarming spike in violent crime over the last few weeks. The New York City Police Department reported this month that shootings were up 130 percent for the month of June; there were 181 murders in the first six months compared to 147 last year.
According to The New York Times, as of Sunday, there had been 634 shootings in 2020, compared with 394 in the same period in 2019.
The Windy City has also seen a remarkable surge; it reached a grim milestone late last month when it saw 18 murders in one day – making May 31 the city’s deadliest day in 60 years.
Statistics released by CPD show that over the last six months homicide rates have seen an increase of about 34 percent since the same period last year, and shootings are also up by 42 percent.
“Well, if you’re talking about Seattle and any of those things, I think when he talks about peaceful protestors and anything that is not peaceful, that covers all of those zones that you’re talking about,” Richmond said, referring to Seattle’s former autonomous “cop-free” zone. ” And, it talks about those people who are infiltrating peaceful marches with violence and destruction. They are not a part of the solution. And so, I think that he has spoken to it.”
“OK, I didn’t hear that,” Kilmeade responded.

Richmond said that Biden would take questions “and he will do all of those things as soon as it’s safe to do it.”
“But, he did it two weeks ago, and he will continue to do it on the campaign,” he concluded.

]]>“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade told “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday that protesters who tried to take down a statue of Andrew Jackson near the White House Monday night simply “don’t like the country.”
“People are trying to find fault with our past because they don’t like the country,” Kilmeade declared. “These people aren’t trying to make our country better.”
“You want to destroy our past,” Kilmeade added, “because we don’t live up to the lofty standards of the shirtless skateboarders who want to petition and protest and try to intimidate reporters on a nightly basis.”
Delving into Jackson’s life, Kilmeade, who hosts “What Made America Great” on Fox Nation, declared him “an American success story.”
“If you want to make America better, put a plaque on there and say … he was part of the Indian Removal Act and those weren’t positive things — but there was a generation, the Jacksonian Era,” he said. “That’s why there’s a statue.”

“I’m so glad they made the statue as tough as the person,” Kilmeade went on, “because they couldn’t get him down with chains, couldn’t get him down with the ropes.
“They can defile him, but couldn’t take him down.”

]]>“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade responded Tuesday to a newly declassified email by Susan Rice that showed former FBI Director James Comey suggested in January 2017 that President Barack Obama keep national security adviser designate Michael Flynn out of the loop on matters pertaining to Russia.
“James Comey is basically saying … ‘I don’t think I should be sharing Russian information with the national security advisor,'” Kilmeade said during an appearance on the “Special Report” All-Star panel
According to the fully declassified email, Comey told Obama during a Jan. 5, 2017 Oval Office meeting that Flynn’s contacts with Russia’s then-ambassador to the U.S. “could be an issue as it relates to sharing sensitive information.” When Obama asked Comey if he was advising that the National Security Council not pass “sensitive information related to Russia,” Comey replied, “potentially.”
“They really believe that Michael Flynn, a three-star general who has done more to fight Al Qaeda … who sat down with the worst of the worst and gave 33 years of his life … would sell out our country to Russia?” Kilmeade asked.

“Or,” he wondered, “are they just trying to circumvent and hamstring an administration trying to get its sea legs as they try to stand up…”
Kilmeade added that he found Rice’s email documenting Comey’s comments to be “bizarre,” speculating that “she knew that one day would be … discussing this.”

Kilmeade later called on Flynn to address the latest revelations in connection to his case.
“Can we hear from him?” he asked. “It’s only his future at stake, and it is four years of his life that have been wasted and his financial situation couldn’t be more devastating, so can we hear Michael Flynn explain this?”

]]>“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade responded Monday to a New York Times op-ed penned by former Obama strategists David Axelrod and David Plouffe in which they urged presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to “up the tempo” of his campaign.
“This is unbelievable,” Kilmeade told “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“You have David Axelrod and David Plouffe, who helped get Barack Obama elected twice. They know Joe Biden very well … they worked with him side-by-side for eight years.
“Something is going on here because rather than talk to him, they wrote an editorial in The New York Times telling him, ‘You have to get out of the basement. You look like you are beaming in from the space shuttle.'”
BIDEN CAMPAIGN RAMPS UP DIGITAL STAFF AMID DEM PRESSURE
The op-ed, titled “What Joe Biden Needs To Do To Beat Trump,” came amid growing concern from senior Democrats that the Biden campaign is struggling behind the Trump team on the digital front. The online battleground is likely to be a vital part of the campaign since most traditional campaign avenues have been closed off due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has left the former vice presidentsequestered in his Delaware home.
The campaign’s digital operation deficit was on full display last week, when Biden attempted to hold a campaign rally for voters in Tampa, Fla. The glitch-riddled event ended up drawing mockery from Republicans and media outlets instead.
“He is doing a virtual rope line where he asks different people, one voter a day, how things are going,” Kilmeade said.
“So, David Axelrod and David Plouffe wrote an editorial … that is like you watching me in the morning and going, ‘Brian is bothering me. I think I’ll do an editorial in the New York Post rather than texting me,” Kilmeade told host Tucker Carlson.
BIDEN MOCKED FOR TECH GLITCHES IN VIRTUAL TAMPA CAMPAIGN RALLY
“It makes no sense. These are his supporters setting him on fire. What is crazy is that I think in most battleground states, he is actually leading or just behind Donald Trump. So he’s got his hands full.”
Kilmeade predicted the race will boil down to “Barack Obama against Donald Trump.”
“I would not be surprised if Joe Biden introduces Barack Obama,” Kilmeade said, “and then sits — I am not kidding — from August until November.”
