]]>On the latest episode of Fox Nation’s “Isaiah Washington: Kitchen Talk,” the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star caught up with Instagram personality and community activist Larry Henry, known to his followers as KingFace, to discuss his tumultuous past and how it led to his support of President Trump.
” I mean, he comes from the same surroundings as me,” Henry said of Trump. “I think he’s like the people. I think he is the people … I think he understands the people.”

Henry said Trump’s past, which forced him to navigate everyday “human being situations,” makes him relatable to the public, and inspires citizens of all backgrounds to dream big.
“Obama made Black people feel like they could become president. When Donald Trump became president, it made the whole world feel like they could become president.”

“He comes from Queens, New York. He made mistakes, like he’s cheated … you know, he lived a certain lifestyle and he was able to become president,” Henry said.
“I did the same thing. I’ve cheated. I’ve did things. I’ve done bad things. So … when you look at a country where everybody wants to be politically correct … the fact that he’s going through regular human being situations and able to overcome it and be the president of the United States, I think that’s admirable.
“It makes people like me feel like I could be president,” Henry told Washington.
Washington opened up about his own decision to leave the Democratic party in an earlier Fox Nation interview, in which he blamed Democrats for “not doing enough” and pointed to their lack of action in the Black community as an example.

“I’m going to support the policy over the person,” he said at the time.
Henry’s support for Trump, however, appears to be far more personal.
“Jail, death, that’s the route I was going,” Henry said when asked what his future looked like five years ago.
Trump’s 2016 victory inspired him to turn his life around, he explained.
“I felt like Obama made Black people feel like they could become president,” he said. “When Donald Trump became president, it made the whole world feel like they could become president.”

]]>Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom told CNBC on Monday the coronavirus tracking website he helped build is showing concerning levels of spread in many states across the U.S.
Epidemiologists use something called an R0, or R naught, as a way to measure how a virus is spreading. For example, an R naught of 1 means the average person who is infected with the virus will be expected to spread it to one other person; a higher R naught means the virus will spread exponentially.
Systrom said his site, rt.live, reports the estimated the rate of transmission, or Rt, in each state. The Rt metric, derived from R naught, seeks to measure the transmission rate in a specific population and a specific moment in time.
Appearing on “Squawk Box,” Systrom said that 34 states in the U.S. have an estimated rate of coronavirus transmission above 1.0, defined on rt.live as an indication the virus will spread quickly. A value less 1.0 suggests the spread will stop.
“So you have an incredible rebound,” said Systrom. “People like to say we’re not in a second wave. I don’t know what a second wave [is] if that’s not a second wave.”
Researchers generally consider that the U.S. remains in the first wave of the Covid-19 epidemic. To be defined as a second wave, the virus would need to retreat and reappear, or a new variant would have to emerge, Columbia University’s Ian Lipkin told CNBC earlier this month. He added that neither has happened.
Nevada has the highest estimated rate of transmission of 1.64, according to rt.live on Monday morning. Montana and Florida have estimated transmission rates of 1.41 and 1.4, respectively. The areas with the estimated lowest rates are Connecticut and Washington D.C., each at 0.77. Massachusetts is the next lowest at 0.81.
‘Check lots of sites. Triangulate for yourself’
Nearly two years ago, Systrom left Facebook, which acquired Instagram for $1 billion in 2012. Unlike Instagram, he said that rt.live is meant to be a public resource to the American public during the pandemic, giving people an up-to-date window into how the virus is spreading in their state.
However, he emphasized the Rt, the rate of transmission, is “one metric of many” that people should use. Rt.live gets its data from the Covid Tracking Project, Systrom said. He recommended that people also rely on state health department data. “Check lots of sites. Triangulate for yourself because these are all models,” he added.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb, a former Food and Drug Administration commissioner, told CNBC that rt.live is valuable because it’s “giving you an indication of what the new cases are telling you.”
“It’s very hard to just interpret from new cases being reported on a daily basis what that means with respect to whether or not the epidemic is expanding and how quickly it’s expanding,” Gottlieb said on “Squawk Box,” appearing with Systrom.
Florida saw a record-breaking 9,636 new infections on Saturday, with another 8,577 on Sunday. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday blamed interactions among young people. Miami-Dade and Broward counties are closing their beaches for the July 4 weekend.
Total U.S. cases topped 2.55 million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University on Monday, with deaths approaching 126,000. Total global cases approached 10.2 million, with over 500,000 deaths.

Though not all who wander are lost, the coronavirus pandemic has upended international movement and kept a globe-trotting American couple stateside for the first time in years — but they say it has given them a unique perspective.
Kelly Castille and Kody Workman run the popular account Positravelty on Instagram, documenting their glamorous adventures of full-time travel for their 200,000 followers. While the COVID-19 outbreak has put a pause on the couple’s exotic excursions (and forced them to rethink their social media strategy), Castille and Workman are staying positive from their temporary new home base in Michigan.
FOX NEWS: How have you been affected by the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus?
Kody Workman: Since the outbreak, our plans for both travel and social media have been postponed entirely. We are actually starting this year with a clean slate, because everything that we had lined up, such as work, shoots and trips …even our upcoming move has been put on hold.
The travel bloggers discussed how the outbreak affected their longer-term plans, how their daily life has changed and how to satisfy incurable wanderlust if you’re feeling stir-crazy at home.

After our most recent project in Mexico, we went home to visit our families in the U.S., making it our first Christmas at home in years. We had actually planned to stay in Louisiana (where Kelly is from) through February to relax, and then we had big plans to travel [America] together for the first time, including Utah, California and Oregon.
[Then] COVID-19 hit the states hard, and everything had to be canceled. The time frame we had planned and scheduled had us leaving early April to Bali, a move we have been waiting to make for almost a year now, but we had to postpone it to May 1… a date that is now also not seeming likely.
“Since the outbreak, our plans for both travel and social media have been postponed entirely,” Workman explained.

Kelly Castille: The worldwide travel restrictions have had a huge effect on our plans and have made us completely stationary for the first time since we met each other back in October 2017. Before the pandemic, we had already decided to take a small break from social media in early February, utilizing our time home to be with family and friends, catch up on editing, tackle our U.S. adventures, and get everything ready for the move.
We made an executive decision after the outbreak, [and] the restrictions and the stay home orders, to extend our social media hiatus and reevaluate our focus for the year… but we are getting ready to reappear, fresh with new inspiration and creativity — just without the “travel aspect,” for the time being. We have so many ideas in the works and we are very excited to share our new content.
The global travel restrictions have made the couple “completely stationary” for the first time they met in October 2017, said Castille.

FOX: Where were you when the health crisis hit?
Workman: I flew to Michigan at the start of February to spend some more time with my family before the move and Kelly came in late February to join me, helping me finalize things before our U.S. trip was to begin.
Just about the time we were planning on heading out, the [coronavirus] news started to get more serious and we never left Michigan. When we decided not to take the domestic trips, Kelly actually booked a flight back to Louisiana; however the outbreak in New Orleans had gotten so bad that flights were being canceled. New Orleans went under full lockdown and Kelly decided to just stay in Michigan until it was safe to get back home.
The change of pace doesn’t upset Workman, who said it feels “amazing” to be spending time in just one place with his partner.

FOX: After seeing so much of the world together, how does it feel to be stationary?
Workman: Honestly… it feels amazing! We haven’t had a “home life” in years and we have never had one together. We have been cooking, working out, watching movies, playing board games, sleeping in, and it all feels so nice.
Castille: Especially for me, it has been wonderful to have permanence, routine and stability back after not having it for so long. But we are definitely starting to get a bit stir crazy, and can’t wait until we can get back out into the world.

FOX: Do you have any advice for travel enthusiasts who can’t wait to get back out?
Castille: The best way to satisfy wanderlust when you are incapable of going anywhere is to start doing research. The world is so expansive and the options are endless. Start planning future trips, watch some documentaries on countries you have never seen before, and find some hidden gems of your own. Give yourself a lot to look forward to!
