]]>One of the highest-profile defendants in the college admissions scandal, which exposed the rich and famous paying big bucks on cheating scams to get their kids into the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities, was sentenced on Friday.
Actress Lori Loughlin‘s husband, Mossimo Giannulli, was sentenced to 5 months in prison by Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton for the charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and to honest services wire and mail fraud. The sentence is in line with the terms of Giannulli’s plea deal that was laid out months ago.
Giannulli’s sentence includes a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service. Judge Gorton announced in the hearing on Friday that he believed the sentence is “sufficient but not greater than necessary under the circumstance.”

The fashion designer, who is 57, appeared in a Massachusetts federal court virtually via Zoom from what appeared to be a conference room in Los Angeles, Calif. He wore a dark suit, a light pink shirt, and a dark purple tie. His hearing took place just hours before Loughlin’s, which is is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Following Gorton’s acceptance of his plea deal, Giannulli addressed the court.
“I do deeply regret, as [attorney] Sean [Berkowitz] said, the harm that my actions have caused my daughters, my wife, and others. I take full responsibility for my conduct, I’m ready to accept consequences and move forward with the lessons I’ve learned from this experience,” Loughlin’s husband said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristen Kearney spoke to Giannulli’s sentence, calling the five months he will serve “appropriate.” Kearney dubbed Giannulli’s crime more than “just overzealous parenting.”
“It is criminal and desiring of the 5 months imprisonment,” Kearney said.

Berkowitz also spoke to Giannulli’s actions, calling his celebrity client “humble.”

“He works to be a good role model for his children,” Berkowitz said, before explaining how Giannulli’s correspondence with scam mastermind William “Rick” Singer began.
Berkowitz said: “When Moss was introduced to Singer, he was presented as a reputable college counselor. It wasn’t until April 2016 that Singer first suggested the side door that you’ve heard about… When Singer suggested side door, Moss made some bad decisions and even took photos of his kids. He understands what he has done is wrong.”
Berkowitz added that Giannulli “regrets deeply bringing his wife [Lori Loughlin] into the scheme.”
He added that attention from the scandal has led to the couple’s daughters, Isabella and Olivia Jade, to be “bullied on social media.”
Giannulli’s sentence comes after more than a year of legal battles in which the famous couple initially pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from $500,000 in payments made to scam mastermind Singer to get their daughters recruited to the University of Southern California on the crew team despite never actually participating in the sport.
LORI LOUGHLIN: FEDERAL PROSECUTORS URGE JUDGE TO ACCEPT ACTRESS’ PRISON DEAL
In May, the duo shocked many when they changed course and agreed to plead guilty like their fellow celebrity counterpart in the scandal, Felicity Huffman. The “Desperate Housewives” actress served 11 days of a planned two-week sentence in 2019 for similar crimes.
Giannulli pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and to honest services wire and mail fraud, while Loughlin pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.
In his plea agreement, Giannulli agreed to serve five months in prison, pay a $250,000 fine along with two years of supervised release and 250 hours of community service. Loughlin, meanwhile, agreed to serve two months and pay a $150,000 fine with two years of supervised release and 100 hours of community service. A judge will make a ruling on Loughlin’s case later on Friday.
U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling agreed to the terms of the plea, outlining Giannulli’s expanded role in the scandal compared to the “Fuller House” actress in his sentence recommendation that was previously obtained by Fox News.

“The crime Giannulli and Loughlin committed was serious. Over the course of two years, they engaged twice in Singer’s fraudulent scheme. They involved both their daughters in the fraud, directing them to pose in staged photographs for use in fake athletic profiles and instructing one daughter how to conceal the scheme from her high school counselor. As between the defendants, the evidence suggests that Giannulli was the more active participant in the scheme,” Lelling wrote. “He engaged more frequently with Singer, directed the bribe payments to USC and Singer, and personally confronted his daughter’s high school counselor to prevent the scheme from being discovered, brazenly lying about his daughter’s athletic abilities.”

He added: “Loughlin took a less active role, but was nonetheless fully complicit, eagerly enlisting Singer a second time for her younger daughter, and coaching her daughter not to ‘say too much’ to her high school’s legitimate college counselor, lest he catch on to their fraud.”
Loughlin and Giannulli had previously pleaded not guilty to expanded charges of bribery brought against them in October along with 11 other parents swept up in the scandal.
The charge of conspiracy to commit federal program bribery carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The couple was also hit with charges of money laundering and conspiracy that carried a potential sentence of 40 years if convicted on all of them.

]]>When U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar got remarried in March following her divorce, the Minnesota Democrat tied the knot with a man who was a member of her political consulting team.
Now, campaign data show Omar has paid Tim Mynett’s consulting firm a total of more than $878,000 since 2018 – including $189,000 just weeks after the couple announced they were husband and wife, the New York Post reported.
In the first quarter of this year, Mynett’s E Street Group has received more than $292,000 from Omar’s campaign for digital advertising, fundraising consulting and research services, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis reported in April, citing data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Payments for 2019 totaled more than $500,000, the Star Tribune reported.
Omar’s campaign is her husband’s firm’s biggest client by far, Open Secrets data suggest – with E Street Group receiving about one-third of all the Democrat’s campaign cash, the Washington Examiner reported.
The arrangement is possible because of a 1960s federal anti-nepotism statute that prohibits members of Congress from hiring relatives for government jobs – but does not block family members from doing campaign work, a former chief ethics lawyer from the administration of former President George W. Bush told The New York Post.
“It should not be allowed,” attorney Richard Painter said. “I think it’s a horrible idea to allow it, given the amount of money that goes into these campaigns from special interests.”

Other lawmakers with spouses doing campaign work for them include U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Pa., and U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., the Post reported.
Neither Omar nor her husband’s firm immediately responded to the Post’s requests for comment, according to the newspaper.
A Virginia-based conservative group called the National Legal and Policy Center filed a complaint against Omar last year, after it was disclosed that Omar and Mynett were lovers. The group sought an FEC investigation.
If the FEC does investigate, Omar and Mynett will have to prove that Omar is paying market-based rates for E Street Group’s services, without the prices being inflated “to fluff up their income,” Washington-based political lawyer Cleta Mitchell told the Post.

Omar claimed on Twitter in March that she and Mynett received an OK from federal authorities to continue their business relationship.
“We consulted with a top FEC campaign attorney to ensure there were no possible legal issues with our relationship. We were told this is not uncommon and that no, there weren’t,” Omar wrote.
Some of the details of the couple’s financial arrangements came to light in 2019 when Mynett’s then-wife filed divorce papers – alleging her husband and Omar were having an affair despite both of them being married to other people at the time.

The husband of a San Francisco woman who called cops on a neighbor for writing “Black Lives Matter” in chalk, on his own property, has lost his job in finance.
Raymond James wealth management group said it cut ties with Robert Larkin after video surfaced of him standing in the background and chiming in while his wife, skincare company CEO Lisa Alexander, chided a neighbor last week. Social media has dubbed her a “Karen,” a term used to describe entitled white women.
“After an investigation into the circumstances of a video alleging racism by one of our associates, we have concluded that the actions of he and his partner were inconsistent with our values, and the associate is no longer employed by Raymond James,” the company posted on Twitter.
That statement acknowledged Larkin’s behavior happened outside the workplace, but said the company expects employees to conduct themselves “appropriately” in their everyday life.
Alexander, who was taped speaking down to James Juanillo Tuesday, posted an apology online Sunday after footage of the couple harassing their neighbor was shared more than a million times on social media.
“I did not realize at the time that my actions were racist and have learned a painful lesson,” she claimed. “I am taking a hard look at the meaning behind white privilege and am committed to growing from this experience.”
In the video, Alexander claimed to know the person who owned the house where Juanillo was making his chalk drawing and that it was not him.
Juanillo, who shared footage of the incident that happened in front of the home he moved into 18 years ago on social media, runs a dog walking business in the posh neighborhood. He said he’s experienced this sort of bullying in the past.
“This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced fear or even loathing that just kind of creeps out,” he told KPIX 5.

My husband and I married young and have been together for 15 years. We have two small children together. I’ve never been intimate with another man. (He had one partner before me.) The sex has always been … fine. He is very into performing oral—although I think his enthusiasm outstrips his skill—but I prefer penetration or manual stimulation to get off. It sounds like your husband might be having issues related to erectile dysfunction, which, unfortunately, are so wrapped up in shame that many men find them virtually impossible to discuss. But his issues affect you, and you are justified to initiate a discussion about them. You aren’t satisfied, and you won’t be any more so if you just wait around for change to happen.
I’d start with a gentle conversation with your husband during a non-sexual moment when you have the time to talk. Tell him you’ve been frustrated in bed. Mention you appreciate his oral enthusiasm, but that you prefer manual and penetrative simulation. Tell him you feel he doesn’t prioritize your pleasure at times, particularly after he finishes. Tell him that you desire longer sessions. Ask him if there’s anything else he wants to try in bed. See if he’s concerned about performance issues, and ask if he’d be open to trying to E.D. drugs to help. You may want to do this over time, after you’ve initiated the conversation, and not lay it all on him at once. You could both read Come As You Are, and frame this as a sexual journey you’re on together, not a correction. Open communication and working together in bed should improve things in a life you otherwise want to preserve.
The only way you’d get my blessing for pursing the big-dicked object of your fantasies is if you did it ethically, which is by opening your relationship (and ensuring that your stud in waiting has done the same with his). A conversation about this with your husband also could be useful, even if it doesn’t result in the outcome of a non-monogamous arrangement. It could at least convey to him the seriousness of your situation. It could also very much hurt his feelings, but the way I see it is you’re already dealing with hurt feelings, and it’s unfair for you to have to shoulder the burden of an unsatisfying sex life and an arrangement that makes attaining one impossible. This, too, might be something to broach after the first couple conversations.
Could a large dildo be a sort of compromise that allows you the sensation you’re looking for without resorting to cheating? A stopgap, if you will? Worth a try, I think, while you figure this out.

I’m a 39-year-old straight man, a gym rat with nerd hobbies, successful, post-graduate-educated, with a decent middle-class lifestyle. I own a decent house, decent car and travel a lot, and I’m living a life that I’m so grateful to have. The only issue in my life that worries my family and friends is that I don’t have a partner. The thing is that, when it comes to girls, I’m a shy guy and never had any play. I only had one girlfriend for two years in my mid-20s, and I never dated after that. I’m of two minds about your situation. I truly believe that you should pursue the life path that feels true to you, ignoring the pressures and critiques of “society” (in this case, embodied by your presumably normative parents and family). This isn’t easy, and many just aren’t able to block out the noise and blot out the imagery of what normalcy looks like and thus get caught up in despair when their lives fall short of what they “should” be. But when possible, ignoring the noise and just doing you is so rewarding. This is a cornerstone of queerness. I’m not saying that you should start identifying as queer, but you could find some inspiration in the queers who have been able to reject the pressure to contort their lives into anything other than what they actually are. You could very well be somewhere on the asexuality spectrum (in the aromantic vicinity, perhaps), but again, how you identify is up to you.
So no, theoretically, there is not a problem with how you are pursuing happiness, and porn/masturbation/the employment of sex workers does not make you a bad person. That said, your reasons for not pursuing relationships are somewhat concerning, as they don’t seem to stem from an absence of feeling but from anxiety, a sense of low-self esteem, or a reaction to previous interactions. People of all walks of life—no matter how socially awkward or nerdy—find partners, and your letter reads as if you’ve given up to save yourself the grief of rejection. You say that talking to a woman isn’t worth the headache, but that’s far from the only outcome of such an interaction. I’ll let you in a secret: No one “knows” how to do a relationship. We’re all playing by ear day to day, and in the best-case scenarios, our ethics, integrity, and consistency create a harmonic score to low-key interpersonal chaos. Yes, this can be a headache, and the work relationships demand can be exhausting. But human interaction? Feeling understood? Knowing what it is to love and be loved and love because you are loved, allowing that cycle to take on a sort of perpetual motion that fuels a partnership? That can be deeply rewarding. There is nothing like it.
If you, as I do, suspect that you are capable of such a coupling but are rejecting it preemptively to preserve your own ego and keep your anxiety in check, it is absolutely worth talking to a professional and start working on underlying issues that may be obstructing you from living the life you deserve. But if you don’t, and your feeling of contentment never wavers, who is anyone to say that you aren’t living right?

I’m a bisexual woman in my early 30s, and I’ve been in a relationship with an amazing woman for the past nine months. You don’t “compete” with anything—you forge an entirely novel path with your unique partnership. No matter how seemingly well-reasoned, anxiety is anxiety, the worry about uncertainty over things that, in terms of your own perception, do not yet exist. Anxiety is about as close as you can get to literally chasing a dragon, since dragons don’t actually exist.
You say you feel inexperienced, but you have nine months with this woman under your belt. That counts as experience. While it is true that some lovers leave indelible marks in one’s memory, a healthy brain remains spongelike and able to canonize new experience. So make it your business to make new memories. Keep your communication open, too. I think a conversation that circles around your anxiety could be useful as long as you don’t lead with your fears and ultimately make the situation about attending to you. Your issues concern attending to her and her pleasure, so check in and ask if she’s happy, if there’s anything else you could do that she would enjoy, anything that you’re already doing that could use improving. There will be a fine line between having a discussion and making this a thing. The latter would effectively create an issue for both of you out of something that originated in your head as anxiety. You’d run the risk of manifesting a self-fulfilling prophecy. So, please, do not make it a thing.

My partner is immunocompromised and was staying with family across the country when COVID-19 hit. Due to being at risk, they likely won’t be back for many more months, despite many cities now entering reopening phases. Initiate based on the first list, discuss with your partner the contents of the second, and make clear the boundaries that comprise your third. I’m going to urge you not to go too far outside your comfort zone, and remind you that if you aren’t into virtual sex, it’s OK. You don’t have to like everything, and many people (including myself) find disembodied sex to be so far outside of what they enjoy about sexual encounters (human-on-human friction, for example) that they just aren’t interested in taking part in such communication, even if they have otherwise healthy and enthusiastic attitudes about sex.
Also, there has been a ton of content lately regarding quarantined intimacy. ]]>Actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband agreed to plead guilty to charges connected to their roles in a massive college admission scandal that rocked higher education, prosecutors said Thursday.
In a deal struck with federal prosecutors in Boston, the “Full House” actress and husband Mossimo Giannulli agreed to serve time in prison for allegedly passing off their daughters as elite athletes and securing their admission to the University of Southern California, federal prosecutors in Boston said.
Loughlin has agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and Giannulli is now expected to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud, authorities said.

If a federal judge signs off on the deals, Loughlin will spend two months in prison, pay a $150,000 fine, be subjected to two years of supervised release and perform 100 hours of community service, prosecutors said.
In Giannulli’s plea agreement, he agreed to five months in prison, a $250,000 fine, two years of supervised release and 250 hours of community service.
“Under the plea agreements filed today, these defendants will serve prison terms reflecting their respective roles in a conspiracy to corrupt the college admissions process and which are consistent with prior sentences in this case,” U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said in a statement.
“We will continue to pursue accountability for undermining the integrity of college admissions.”
Loughlin, 55, and Giannulli, 56, both live in Los Angeles and their next court date was not immediately set.

]]>A week after a Colorado mom of two vanished on Mother’s Day, her husband took to Facebook to say he would do “whatever it takes” to bring her back.
“We love you, we need you, your girls need you,” Barry Morphew told his wife Suzanne in the video posted Sunday.
“If anyone is out there that can hear this that has you, please, we’ll do whatever it takes to bring you back,” Morphew said. “No questions asked — however much they want — I will do whatever it takes to get you back. Honey, I love you, I want you back so bad.”

Morphew of Maysville, Colorado, went for a bike ride on May 10 and never came back, her family told the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.
The office said in a statement Sunday that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were helping to search for Morphew.
Members of the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team also searched bodies of water in the area. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s office said Friday that one of Morphew’s personal items had been recovered, but didn’t specify what it was.
The sheriff’s office asked Chaffee County residents to keep all video footage from home security cameras. “One of the most helpful ways the community can aid in the search of Suzanne Morphew is by preserving these recordings,” said Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze.
Suzanne’s nephew, Trevor Noel told Dateline last week that people could help in the search for Morphew by “pounding the keyboard.” The family has set up a Find Suzanne Morphew Facebook page, tip line and a GoFundMe, which has raised nearly $30,000.
“Everyone involved in this search, we just want her back so bad,” Noel said. “We want her back because she is just such a bright light in all of our lives.”
Barry Morphew initially offered a 100,000 reward for his wife’s safe return, but the reward amount has since been doubled to $200,000.
