Both had been critically ill in a hospital, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Of all the deaths reported, about 40% have been associated with long-term care facilities, the county said.<\/p>\n<p>Officials also reported 91 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 3,105.<\/p>\n<p>Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a written statement that Monday\u2019s numbers do not take into account any cases from labs that were closed Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter we see numbers for tomorrow and Wednesday, we should get a glimpse into which way this week is trending,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas County numbers were released ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-health\/2020\/04\/27\/gov-greg-abbott-set-to-announce-relaxing-of-coronavirus-restrictions-on-texas-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gov. Greg Abbott\u2019s announcement<\/a> allowing the statewide stay-at-home order to expire Thursday \u2014 clashing with Dallas County\u2019s order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CDC, public health and medical and hospital communities are already aligned and I\u2019m following their lead,\u201d Jenkins said before the governor\u2019s news conference. \u201cI believe a science-based approach gives us our best opportunity to save lives and open the economy in a way that will keep it open.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Collin County<\/h2>\n<p>There were 13 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday in Collin County. No additional deaths related to the virus were reported.<\/p>\n<p>The county has recorded 676 cases of the disease, with 17 deaths and 463 recoveries. Twenty-nine patients remain hospitalized, according to the county\u2019s data.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Denton County<\/h2>\n<p>Twelve new positive coronavirus tests were reported Monday in Denton County, along with five recoveries from the virus.<\/p>\n<p>The county has had a total of 725 cases, with 20 deaths and 344 recoveries.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Tarrant County<\/h2>\n<p>Tarrant County officials reported 72 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the fewest in a week.<\/p>\n<p>There have been 2,019 cases of the virus and 53 deaths in Tarrant County. Officials say 289 patients have recovered.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the county had reported 147 cases \u2014 the most for any North Texas county on a single day since the outbreak started.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Rockwall County<\/h2>\n<p>Two new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday in Rockwall County.<\/p>\n<p>The patients, both in their 60s, live in Fate and Rockwall.<\/p>\n<p>The county has had 72 total cases of the illness.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Kaufman County<\/h2>\n<p>Kaufman County officials reported three new positive coronavirus tests Monday, raising the county\u2019s total to 73.<\/p>\n<p>No Kaufman County residents have died from the virus, and 38 are presumed to have recovered.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\">Johnson County<\/h2>\n<p>Four more COVID-19 cases were reported in Johnson County over the weekend, officials said Monday.<\/p>\n<p>There has been a total of 73 cases, with 38 patients released from isolation.
