Ghislaine Maxwell was far worse than Jeffrey Epstein when it came to abusing young women and girls, according to their most outspoken accuser — in fact, she was “Gepetto” to his “Pinocchio.”
“She was pulling the strings,” Virginia Roberts Giuffre told “CBS This Morning” of Maxwell on Thursday, calling Maxwell the mastermind, and a “monster.”
“Ghislaine was much more conniving and smart than Epstein ever was,” Giuffre said.
“I know that woman. I’ve known her really well. Put it this way — Epstein was Pinocchio, and she was Gepetto.”
Giuffre had still more choice words for Maxwell.
“She is a monster. She’s worse than Epstein. She did things even worse than Epstein did. She was vicious. She was evil. And she’s a woman.”
Giuffre called Maxwell’s arrest two weeks ago, on charges that she recruited girls for Epstein, a moment that was “momentous” and “just surreal.”
“It’s one of those life moments that I’ll never forget.”
Also Thursday, it was revealed that Maxwell had secretly taken a husband in order to safeguard her fortune as prosecutors and lawsuit plaintiffs circled closer.
Maxwell’s claimed romantic connection to Epstein himself was also a sham, Christina Oxenberg, a cousin to the British royal family and a one-time pal of Maxwell, has said recently.
Giuffre has said in civil suits and interviews that she was “recruited” into Epstein’s revolving roster of young “slaves” by Maxwell when she was 16 years old.
She has accused Maxwell of ordering her to bed Prince Andrew three times when she was 17, a claim the prince has denied.
Maxwell remains held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

]]>Days after the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell, actress Alicia Arden is asking police in California why they seemingly ignored her claims of sexual battery at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein in 1997.
Arden has previously claimed that she met the late disgraced financier at Shutters on the Beach, a hotel in Santa Monica, for what she believed to be a business meeting about becoming a Victoria’s Secret model. However, upon arrival at the hotel, she found Epstein underdressed for the business meeting and was more interested in groping her than improving her career.
During a press conference Monday, Arden reiterated her experience. According to People, she noted that Epstein said to her, “Let me manhandle you for a second” before forcefully pulling up her shirt and pulling her skirt down to grab at her buttocks. When Epstein was distracted by a phone call, she says she managed to slip away and headed for the door. She alleged that the now-convicted sex offender, who died by suicide in a Manhattan jail last August, offered her a $100 bill.
“I told him, ‘Jeffrey, I’m not a prostitute,'” she recalled. “‘I want to be in the Victoria’s Secrets catalogue.'”

Arden says she filed a police report about the incident days later but says she was never contacted by detectives with the Santa Monica Police Department. Now, with the help of her attorney, Gloria Allred, she’s looking for answers.
“We’d like to know, first, what happened. Was there an investigation? Was there not an investigation,” Allred told reporters (via USA Today). “I don’t think Alicia should have to live with the unanswered question… Why was it apparently disregarded? Did they interview Mr. Epstein? Did he decline to be interviewed? Did they take his words against hers? Or did they not do anything?”
In 2019, the Associated Press reported that notes from a detective working the case stated that Arden did not want to press charges against Epstein, but merely wanted him warned by authorities about his behavior. However, she strongly denies saying anything of the sort.
Police also alleged that Epstein was interviewed about the incident and that his account differed from Arden’s. However, police declined to tell the Associated Press at the time how the accounts differed.
If the victim tells the detective they do not wish to prosecute, then the detective will close the case,” a statement from the police said at the time. “In this case, the victim advised the detective she did not wish to prosecute so there was no point in presenting it to the City Attorney for review.”

Arden’s acting credits include TV’s “Baywatch,” “General Hospital” and “Red Shoe Diaries.” She’s also appeared in multiple movies throughout her career. She has been speaking out about her 1997 experience since news of Epstein’s crimes became the subject of intense public scrutiny. Epstein died at age 66 while in lockup awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.
Maxwell, the daughter of late British media magnate Robert Maxwell, was indicted on multiple charges in connection to an alleged sex-trafficking operation that brought girls – some as young as 14 – to Epstein’s Manhattan home.

Prosecutors alleged that Maxwell, between 1994-1997, “assisted, facilitated and contributed to Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein to be under the age of 18.”
They added, “Moreover, in an effort to conceal her crimes, Maxwell repeatedly lied when questioned about her conduct, including in relation to some of the minor victims… when providing testimony under oath in 2016.”
Several of Epstein’s victims have described Maxwell as his chief enabler, recruiting and grooming young girls for abuse. She has denied wrongdoing and called claims against her “absolute rubbish.”

]]>A Jeffrey Epstein accuser called the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell “one of the best days of my life,” and said the disgraced financier’s ex-girlfriend sobbed loudly in court — a claim disputed by reporters.
The British socialite was arrested Thursday in New Hampshire on charges that she acted as a recruiter of underage girls for Epstein, usually under the guise of hiring them to perform massages, and sometimes participated in his sexual abuse of the teens.
“This day to me has been like one of the best days of my life. I have not stopped smiling and crying happy tears,” Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who said she was trafficked by Epstein and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew on three occasions nearly 20 years ago, told “60 Minutes Australia.”

Maxwell faced six federal charges stemming from accusations from three women who said she not only recruited and groomed them for Epstein, but sexually abused minors as well. Investigators said Epstein killed himself in a New York City jail cell last August.
During Maxwell’s remote appearance before a federal magistrate in New Hampshire hours after her arrest Thursday, Giuffre said she smiled when she heard “a very loud British woman screaming, ‘Why is this happening? How is this happening? How could this happen?’ — and just crying her eyes out.”
The sob claim has been disputed, DailyMail.com suggested. The report noted Maxwell did not sound like she had been crying.
Giuffre called Maxwell “the wicked one.”
“She is just the most narcissistic, evil, vain woman I have ever known, and she’s finally been knocked off her pedestal!” Giuffre told the show.
She also said Maxwell “ruined so many lives — she belongs in jail.”
In court papers filed last Thursday, prosecutors said she went into hiding after Epstein’s arrest last year and took steps to avoid detection before she was apprehended in New Hampshire.
In a memo requesting that she remain jailed until her trial, prosecutors said Maxwell, 58, was linked to more than 15 bank accounts with balances ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to more than $20 million.
She was being held without bail in New Hampshire and previously denied any wrongdoing.
Furthermore, they said, she had citizenship in France, where she was born; the United Kingdom, where she has long-lived; and the U.S., where she was naturalized in 2002, and had passports from all three countries.
As law enforcement had closed in on Epstein, Maxwell continued to travel frequently, prosecutors said, making at least 15 international flights in the last three years to places including the U.K., Japan, and Qatar before ending up in a home on a 156-acre property in Bradford, New Hampshire, which was purchased for over $1 million in cash through a limited liability corporation last December.

That’s where she was arrested.
“Prince Andrew should be panicking at the moment because Ghislaine doesn’t really care about anyone else but Ghislaine,” Giuffre said. The British royal has denied allegations of any sexual misconduct.

Ghislaine Maxwell broke down in tears and wailed “Why is this happening?” when she faced a judge last week, according to a key accuser who called it “one of the best days of my life.”
Virginia Roberts Giuffre — who has repeatedly claimed Maxwell forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew — claims she heard the anguished cries during the British socialite’s remote appearance before a federal magistrate in New Hampshire hours after her arrest Thursday.
She heard “a very loud British woman screaming, ‘Why is this happening? How is this happening? How could this happen?’ — and just crying her eyes out,” Giuffre told “60 Minutes Australia,” smiling at the memory.
While Maxwell appeared via video in front of the judge, members of the public were only allowed to listen in to audio of the proceeding, per rules about filming in federal court.
It was not clear exactly when she heard them, however, with most reports of the proceedings saying Maxwell only spoke to answer about a dozen technical and procedural questions from the judge. She may have mixed her up with someone other than Maxwell, who did not sound like she had been crying, DailyMail.com suggested.
Still, Giuffre — one of the most outspoken victims of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — could not hide her joy at Maxwell being behind bars.
“This day to me has been like one of the best days of my life. I have not stopped smiling and crying happy tears,” Giuffre told the TV special in Australia, where she now lives.
“I’m just elated to know that she’s where she belongs,” she said, calling Maxwell “the wicked one.”
“She is just the most narcissistic, evil, vain woman I have ever known. And she’s finally been knocked off her pedestal!” Giuffre told the show, saying Maxwell “ruined so many lives — she belongs in jail.”
Giuffre also believes the arrest will have left 60-year-old UK royal Andrew “shook up” at the fear his close friend could turn on him.
“Prince Andrew should be panicking at the moment because Ghislaine doesn’t really care about anyone else but Ghislaine,” Giuffre said.
Giuffre has claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times, starting when she was 17 in 2001 in Maxwell’s London townhouse, where a now-infamous photo of her with Andrew and Maxwell was taken.
Andrew and Buckingham Palace have vehemently denied Giuffre’s claims, with the prince suggesting the photo of them together could be fake.
Maxwell’s charges relate to alleged sex crimes from before Giuffre’s allegations.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers, says she was trafficked to London by Epstein in 2001.
She spoke to Australia’s Channel Nine 60 Minutes programme following the arrest of Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was arrested on charges of helping Epstein’s sexual exploitation of girls and young women, and also perjury.
Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell both deny allegations made against them.

]]>A piece of guerrilla artwork meant to represent pedophile Jeffrey Epstein showed up in front of Albuquerque’s old City Hall in the middle of the night.
Workers on Wednesday morning quickly removed the gold-painted mannequin, which looked nothing like the notorious financier.
It came with a plaque bearing Epstein’s name, according to reports.
“He had a home in New Mexico, Zorro ranch,” the plaque read. “He was also a rapist who died in prison.”
It also listed the captions from 17 court cases in which Epstein was a defendant.
A group calling itself the Antlion Entertainment Art Collective claimed responsibility, Fox affiliate KRQE-TV reported.
The station reported that with controversial statues coming down across the country, the group said it wanted to make its own political statement.
“We think we need an Epstein statue in every school because otherwise how are students even going to learn they even existed?” a member of the group told the station. “You know those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it, and so if we don’t have statues of Epstein up, how can we prevent predatory behavior.”

]]>One of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers is “ecstatic” over Ghislaine Maxwell’s arrest, as the British socialite also allegedly sexually abused her and left her with night terrors, the woman told The Post in an exclusive interview.
“When I woke up to the news, I was extremely ecstatic,” the 43-year-old victim, who is one of nine anonymous plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Epstein’s estate, told The Post.
Epstein’s alleged madame was arrested early Thursday in Bradford, N.H. on a federal indictment accusing her of grooming three underage victims for sex with Epstein in places including his Upper East Side townhouse, New Mexico, Florida and London.
The victim, who is choosing to conceal her identity, said: “I’m so grateful that she has finally been taken into custody and that the authorities have started working on bringing justice for the victims and myself.
“She deserves to be behind bars. I’m very happy and very emotional at the same time. It’s just a roller coaster of emotions.”
The woman added that it is especially meaningful to her because she claims that Maxwell, 58, personally sexually abused her after grooming her for Epstein with the abuse starting when she was 14 and continuing until she was 17 in the mid to late 1990s.
“She participated in the sexual abuse with Epstein. She was involved,” the victim alleged. “She penetrated me with sexual toys, with her fingers. She shaved my private area so that it was in the shape of the heart because she said men thought it was cute.”
Witnesses in Virginia Giuffre’s defamation case against Maxwell testified that Maxwell participated in three-way sex with Epstein and various victims including with Giuffre.
And before that, the victim claims Ghislaine “groomed” her when she was just 14.
“I wanted to be in modeling and that was the carrot dangling in front of me,” the woman said. “And if I wanted to be in modeling … I had to basically work my way to the top and that was doing things for Epstein.”
The woman said she wishes there were even more serious charges mounted against Maxwell.
“In my case, I feel that she should have charges the same as Jeffrey Epstein had. They were co-conspirators. They were side by side,” she said.
Epstein killed himself by hanging in a Lower Manhattan jail cell as he was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
“I am extremely excited that she is behind bars,” the victim said. “I’m not going to be overlooked anymore. What happened to me legitimately happened and to many others and we can finally have our voices heard.”
The abuse has had crippling effects on the woman to this day, including night terrors and causing the break-up of one of her three marriages, she said.
“It basically changed the trajectory of my life and it still effects me to this day. The things I had gone through with them, with her, the things that she has done to me,” she said.
“I have night terrors, it affects my marriage, it has affected my relationship with my children because some days I have emotional break-downs where I just can’t be the baseball, soccer mom all the time.
“Where I’m in my bedroom hiding because I’m shutting down and that’s something that I’m obviously working on with with a therapist,” she said adding that she also takes antidepressants and anxiety medications.
But the night terrors have been the worst for her, she said, and contributed to the break-up of her second marriage.
“Waking up in the middle of the night screaming thinking that I’m back in the clutches of Ms. Maxwell and Mr. Epstein,” she described.
“I believe she should be behind bars for the rest of her life,” the victim said of Maxwell. “I don’t know if I’ll ever feel safe or satisfied because obviously I can’t erase that portion of my life. I can only go through it but it’s a difficult process.”
The woman’s lawyer, Jordan Merson, told The Post, “On behalf of the Epstein victims we are thrilled that Ms. Maxwell has been brought to justice and we look forward to seeing her be held accountable for all that she has done.”
Another Epstein accuser, Jennifer Araoz, who has sued Maxwell as well as the 66-year-old hedge-funder’s estate, told The Post the new arrest could help bring other Epstein conspirators to justice.
“I honestly think that this is just the very beginning,” said Araoz, who claims she was raped by Epstein when she was just 15. “There is going to be a lot of culpability and a lot that will come down from her being arrested. It looks good for us survivors for all of us to get some closure finally.”
“I really didn’t think [her arrest] was going to come. I have been searching for her for a very long time,” Araoz said.
Maxwell’s criminal defense attorney, Lawrence Vogelman, declined to comment.

]]>Author Daniel Halper told “The Daily Briefing” Thursday that the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell is the biggest story related to the Jeffrey Epstein case since the convicted pedophile’s jailhouse suicide last year.
“She’s the primary character, aside from Jeffrey Epstein,” said Halper, the co-author of “A Convenient Death: The Mysterious Demise of Jeffrey Epstein.”
“She [Maxwell] was with him from his rise in New York. [She] helped him really get a social footing, social standing in New York City and make big acquaintances that paid off.”
Halper noted that Maxwell’s circle of friends included the likes of Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton.
“There are lots of pictures of her with President Trump, so she had a very big social circle,” he added. “Part of that was by virtue of who her father was. He [Robert Maxwell] was a publishing magnate in London who died mysteriously himself in the early ’90s [1991].”
Maxwell was arrested Thursday morning in Bradford, N.H., the FBI confirmed to Fox News. She was ordered held without bail by a New Hampshire federal judge following an intial court appearance by video link.
The 58-year-old faces charges of conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, enticement of a minor to to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and two counts of perjury.
Maxwell has been accused in civil court filings of facilitating a sex-trafficking operation that brought girls — some as young as 14 — to Epstein’s Manhattan home, though until Thursday she had not been formally charged with any criminal wrongdoing.

Halper told host Dana Perino that no reporters had been able to track Maxwell down and she had successfully sought to be out of the media spotlight before her arrest.
“The New York Post had a picture of her shortly after Epstein’s death … There are some wild reports about her being in France or being elsewhere around the world or being in yachts,” he said. “It turns out she was just in New Hampshire, kind of laid low. She had this LLC that she purchased through cash to help hide her identity.”
