]]>Charlie Daniels‘ wife’s spirits were lifted this week by President Trump.
The country music legend, best known for his monster 1979 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” died earlier this month of a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.
On Monday, his widow, Hazel Daniels, and his son, Charlie Daniels Jr., took over his official Instagram account to share a personal letter addressed to Hazel from the POTUS.

“Dear Hazel, I was saddened to learn of the loss of your beloved husband, Charlie, and send my deepest condolences,” Trump’s letter begins.
He went on to call the late country icon a “true American patriot,” noting that his music will be “celebrated for generations.”
“He inspired many Americans with his unyielding support of our brave men and women in uniform. Your husband reminded us that we must honor those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms. Our great Nation depends on artists like Charlie who promote love of country. He will be greatly missed,” Trump continued.
Trump also acknowledged his own wife, Melania Trump, and added that they both send their prayers to the Daniels family.
COUNTRY MUSIC LEGEND CHARLIE DANIELS DIES AT 83
“May his music continue to reverberate in the hearts of countless Americans,” he concluded with his signature.
“We are honored that you would think of us in our time of grieving. Thank you so much,” Hazel and her son captioned the Instagram pic.
The acclaimed Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member died at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn., where doctors determined his cause of death, according to a press release obtained by Fox News earlier this month.

Daniels accumulated a slew of accolades and awards during his long career in music, including his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame and becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He also won a Dove Award for gospel albums and a coveted Grammy Award for best country vocal performance by a duo or group.

]]>Country music legend Charlie Daniels spoke candidly in his final interview before his death about his upbringing and shared an eye-opening story about his experience as a White man working in the segregated South.
“In 1958, I was working …[and] there was a guy there by the name of Louis Frost that I was working with that actually trained me, he trained my dad…,” Daniels told Fox Nation’s “The Pursuit with John Rich.”

“In December 1958, they started slowing down and they were going to lay him [Frost] off and keep me,” Daniels recalled. “He knew ten times [more] about the job than I did, but the only problem was, this was 1958. He was Black and I was White. That’s what made the decision.”
Daniels, then 21, described himself as a “novice” employee, but he soon understood that the decision to fire Frost was unrelated to his work experience.
“The thing about it was like comparing apples to oranges as far as who did the job better,” Daniels said.
“He changed my whole life.”

“They were gonna let him go, and keep me who was basically just a novice, and I said, ‘You know, no. I’ve got a job … I play music. Y’all keep him and I’ll leave.’ And I did. He [Frost] stayed in that job and he retired from that job.”
Reflecting on the incident more than six decades later, Daniels told host John Rich: “He changed my whole life.”
Daniels went on to become the renowned singer and fiddler behind the hit song “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” among others, and touched the lives of many with his prolific career in country music.

The star died Monday night at age 83 of a hemorrhagic stroke.
In an emotional post on Twitter, Rich bade farewell to his “hero and friend.”
“Our hero and friend @CharlieDaniels has just entered the pearly gates of Heaven,” Rich wrote. “Thank you Sir for all you gave the world, and your fierce love of God and Country. We will always love and respect you. #RipCharlieDaniels“

]]>Blame the media and the coronavirus for President Trump‘s current campaign woes, Charlie Kirk said Saturday.
His advice for the president: Trump should use positivity to jumpstart and reenergize his reelection bid.
“I think that America right now, because of the propaganda media and the activist wing of the Democrat Party, America feels a little bit down right now,” Kirk said during an appearance on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”
Adding more positive messaging would help recapture the spark of Trump’s 2016 campaign, the founder of Turning Point USA added.
Americans “want their lives” back and some are unfairly blaming the president for their frustration regarding the coronavirus, he said.
“The American people right now on Independence Day weekend, they want their lives back. And so they are a lot of voters right now are frustrated and they’re wrongly placing some of that frustration, I believe, on the president of the United States,” Kirk told host Jeanine Pirro. “It’s just there’s a lot of reasons for it.”
Kirk pointed to Trump’s embrace of the SpaceX-NASA joint launch of a rocket into space last month, an event that gave the country a much-needed boost of optimism and positivity.
“I think what the president should continue to do is embrace the spirit that we saw on that rocket launch, where we went to space for the first time in nearly a decade — contrasting with the violence, the anarchy in the streets,” Kirk said. “The president is the best offensive player that we have ever seen in American politics when he sets the agenda. People follow brilliantly, by the way.”

“And so that kind of big and bold, frontier-minded spirit — talking to America as a country of pioneers again,” Kirk said. “I can tell you from the thousands of people that I communicate with week to week, and the hundreds of thousands of messages that we get every single month, Americans right now — they are yearning for that renewal of optimism and positivity.”

]]>President Trump‘s rally in Tulsa, Okla., showed he’s back on the offensive and “setting the tone” for the 2020 presidential election, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, said Saturday night.
“It’s so refreshing to see the president back in front of his base,” after weeks of coronavirus lockdowns, Kirk said on “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

“This was such an important distinction for the president to articulate — the world view that he is fighting for and that his base supports, and the 63 million Americans who voted for him support ,” Kirk said.
“One line really stuck out to me,” Kirk continued. “He said, ‘We stand on the shoulders of heroes.’ Those are the heroes that the left and the Democrats and the anarchists in the streets are taking down — those statues that [they] are taking down. You saw the statue of George Washington taken down yesterday.”
Being in front of an enthusiastic crowd was a natural fit for Trump, Kirk added.
“The president seemed right where he belonged. He had great energy, great spirit,” Kirk said. “And I think finally he’s back on offense, putting the Democrats on defense.”

Trump roared back before thousands of supporters using the fiery and freewheeling appearance at Tulsa’s BOK Center to mock presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, criticize those tearing down monuments of historical figures and decry what he described as the “disaster” demonstration in Seattle.
Kirk wished Biden “good luck,” saying the former vice president’s campaign was in a “crisis” because the candidate now has to campaign in public after appearing mostly online because of the pandemic.
“There is a little bit of crisis happening in the Biden campaign tonight because they realize that they now actually have to campaign, that they realize they have to defend the indefensible, which is a record that has put America last and put China and our foreign adversaries first,” Kirk said. “A record that has not been advantageous or positive for the black community. A record that has enriched the Biden family at the expense of the American people.”
In contrast, Kirk said, “you can see the president. He was getting more and more into it as the speech went on. And it’s phenomenal to see. And the Biden campaign? Good luck.”
“I don’t even know what campaigning looks like for Joe Biden,” Kirk added. “But the president was spot on with his critique of Joe Biden. And it’s just the beginning.”

Kirk also praised the president for “diving” into the “cultural war.”

“You have record amount of cancelations, a record amount of silencing happen on digital and social media. And the president realizes that politics flows downstream from culture and that it’s time to stand for our beautiful history, the heroes that built America. And if you’re watching this right now and you feel like America’s heading in just a troubling direction the last couple of weeks, the president [is] saying, ‘No more,'” Kirk said.
“And the fact that he talked about the Second Amendment rights, the Constitution, free speech — these are winning issues. And again, the president is probably the best offensive player in modern American history. And when he’s playing offense, he’s setting the tone. The media doesn’t know how to cover it.”
