A pastor of a church in Northern Kentucky has tested positive for COVID-19 and has decided to cancel all in-person services for the next two weeks.Senior pastor Bo Weaver of The Bridge Church in Alexandria, Kentucky, posted on Facebook Friday saying he tested positive for COVID-19.”Fortunately, my symptoms have been mild and I would probably not have been tested if I had not already been scheduled to see my doctor. I am on the back end of the virus and am feeling better each day, but will continue to quarantine until I am completely symptom-free,” Weaver wrote.Weaver announced that he and the elders feel it would be best for everyone if all live services were suspended for the next two weeks. He said if everything goes well, services will resume on Aug. 2. Until then, services will be streamed online.”I have been fortunate to not be too sick but I don’t want you to take any unnecessary risks. The CDC considers you to be directly exposed to COVID-19 only if you’ve been in contact with me for longer than 15 minutes with less than 6 feet separation. However, if you have symptoms, get tested. If you have underlying health concerns, stay home. And for your sake, and the sake of those around you, please wear a mask,” the pastor wrote.Weaver also announced that after nearly 40 years, he will be retiring from pastoral ministry.
