President Trump’s reelection campaign is wagering that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s showcasing of premium ice cream during the coronavirus pandemic will not review well with voters come Election Day.
The California Democrat’s recent appearance on “The Late Program with Jame Cordon” now appears in a 75- 2nd spot entitled “Let them eat ice cream: Nancy Antoinette,” a reference to the “Let them eat cake” remark attributed to Marie Antoinette.
Footage of Ms. Pelosi talking about delays with a small business relief expense is juxtaposed with her proudly showing two industrial-grade refrigerators– one packed with a wide assortment of mail-order ice cream.
Text for the advertisement released Monday night reads “not everyone has a $24,000 equipped fridge” before cutting to American people having a hard time to pay their expenses throughout the coronavirus shutdown.
Ms. Pelosi has said that she supports the Paycheck Protection Program in concept, but will resist any House bill that does not reach “all of America’s small businesses.”
” We likewise want to make certain that [the bill is] operating in a neighborhood where authorities and fire, our healthcare employees, our physicians, nurses, our instructors, are being made up for and not fired,” she informed ABC’s “The Week” Sunday.
