Hunters Palm Springs, a popular nightclub and bar, has closed indefinitely after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, the business said on Saturday.
All other employees who were in contact with the infected individual will be tested and quarantined for 14 days.
“Hunters’ owners, management and staff are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our employees and guests by taking the necessary precautionary measures,” management wrote on Facebook.
It is unclear how many employees have been in contact with the employee who tested positive. A reopening date was not provided.
The closure comes amid a steep increase in positive cases throughout Riverside County.
On Friday, county officials confirmed 501 new cases of coronavirus and three additional virus-related deaths. There are now 15,643 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, and 438 of those have been fatal.
In Palm Springs, face coverings are required in many settings, including picking up food or in-person dining at a restaurant, except while seated at a table or bar.
