Joey Rodolfo, the owner of a clothing store in Seattle,<\/a> Wash<\/a>., told \u201cFox & Friends<\/a>\u201d that he plans to\u00a0move\u00a0out of the state, citing \u201cno\u00a0leadership\u201d and a \u201csocialist\u201d city\u00a0council as reasons for his decision. <\/p>\n

Rodolfo, the co-founder of\u00a0Buki clothing, made the comments as\u00a0authorities in Seattle are making preparations to retake the Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone<\/a>, or CHOP, after several shootings and a number of other crimes have been reported in what protestors\u00a0have declared a \u201ccop-free zone.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

Demonstrators moved in and occupied the neighborhood on June 8 after police pulled out of their East Precinct building following more than a week of protests over the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd<\/a>, some of which grew violent. Floyd died while in police custody.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced<\/a> the city\u00a0will move to end the police-free zone after two recent shootings, one of which was deadly<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI will tell you what’s\u00a0currently happening in Seattle,\u201d Rodolfo said on Wednesday. \u201cWe have people in leadership\u00a0positions where we have no\u00a0leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen this\u00a0happen in the private sector and\u00a0you know what eventually happens\u00a0without leadership right?\u00a0Companies usually die in the\u00a0private sector,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n

“Since we have no\u00a0leadership and we have a city\u00a0council that’s so socialist<\/a>,\u00a0there really is very, very\u00a0little support for businesses.\u00a0As\u00a0far as the city reaching out\u00a0to small businesses like ourselves, or any business, there has been zero.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, most of the attention has been focused on\u00a0CHOP, making sure that people\u00a0in CHOP are well taken care of, but there has been absolutely no\u00a0support or no encouragement for us\u00a0to reopen our stores and have\u00a0any significant sense\u00a0that there will be a\u00a0future here if we were to keep\u00a0our businesses in Seattle or the\u00a0state of Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodolfo said that as a result, he plans to move to another state\u00a0after 38 years of living in Seattle.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are\u00a0looking at so many options, but\u00a0Arizona<\/a> with Governor [Doug] Ducey\u00a0<\/a>seems to be a great bet quite\u00a0frankly,\u201d Rodolfo said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lot of support in\u00a0Arizona for businesses and\u00a0it just seems like a great state right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
