But what underlying conditions are most likely to lead to poor health outcomes in patients who contract COVID-19?<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6167334958001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID SURGE: US SEES HIGHEST NUMBER OF NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES SINCE APRIL<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), hospital visits were six times higher among patients with underlying conditions, and those same patients were 12 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than their counterparts without medical conditions.<\/p>\n<p>These are the five highest-reported underlying conditions in patients with COVID-19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hypertension<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cardiovascular disease<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Diabetes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Obesity<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chronic lung disease<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products?pid=AppArticleLink\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Doctors do not fully understand the correlation between diabetes and obesity with COVID-19, according to Clarke Piatt, a medical director the Bryn Mawr Hospital ICU in Philadelphia.
