Chron.com is following the latest headlines on the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the Houston area.

Montgomery County officials have confirmed coronavirus outbreaks at two nursing homes in Conroe and The Woodlands, one involving a fatality.

Montgomery County Public Health officials list 21 cases between Park Manor in Conroe and Park Manor of The Woodlands. The death is reported to be a man in his 80s at The Woodlands facility.

Park Manor is a nursing and rehabilitation center that offers patients intravenous therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, wound car and pulmonary care. The facility has about 115 residents.

Gallery Furniture’s very own Mattress Mack announced Thursday his latest coronavirus relief effort: a morning mask giveaway at a Gallery Furniture location off the North Freeway this Friday.

Mack tweeted out the giveaway from his account. The furniture magnate will be giving away 10,00 face masks from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the 6006 N. Freeway Gallery Furniture location.

The giveaway is the latest in Mack’s ongoing COVID-19 relief efforts.

The Gallery Furniture owner and avid sports gambler has been providing meals-on-wheels-style food deliveries for senior citizens and pick-up food bundles for Houstonians in need.
