Florida’s campaign to land the Republican National Convention appeared close to materializing Wednesday, with officials saying at least part of the event is likely to relocate from Charlotte, N.C., to Jacksonville.
“While no final decision has been made by the RNC we understand Jacksonville is a front runner,” state GOP chairman Joe Gruters wrote on Twitter. “This certainly has been generating a lot of attention and excitement. We continue to believe that Florida would be the best place for the convention.”
