After more than three months on lockdown, New York City began the biggest phase of its reopening on Monday, with workers streaming back into offices and some businesses such as hair salons resuming services.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced those who normally toil in the city to stay at home since lockdown began in mid-March. But on Monday, the city kicked off phase two, which could see as many as 300,000 people return to their jobs, according to city officials.
