Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

A total of 403 county residents have tested positive for COVID-19, after six additional cases were reported today.

Testing for COVID-19 continues to be a valuable public health tool, according to Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich. “We continue to urge residents of our community without symptoms to utilize the Optum site in Eureka for screening,” she said. “The more cases we know about, the more we can limit spread of this virus, and Optum turnaround times have improved markedly. Many people are getting results in three to four days.”

Those without symptoms can make an appointment at the state-run OptumServe site located at Redwood Acres in Eureka. Call 888-634-1123 or visit lhi.care/covidtesting to schedule an appointment.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19—such as cough, headache, fever, new loss of smell or taste—should call their primary care provider. Those without a provider can call the Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000 to learn about available testing options.
