CDC chief opposes Trump’s claim he was ‘misquoted’ on capacity for fatal fall coronavirus outbreak: ‘I’m precisely priced quote’

At his nightly White House interview on Wednesday, April 22, President Donald Trump was hoping that the 3 health officials he had with him– Dr. Robert Redfield of the Centers for Illness Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx– would join him in downplaying the possibility that a second coronavirus wave could happen in the fall. However things did not go as Trump had hoped, and none of the health authorities captivated that possibility.

The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 consisted of a very first wave that was lethal and a 2nd wave throughout the fall that was much even worse, and Redfield just recently cautioned that history might duplicate itself with the coronavirus pandemic– that a second wave in the fall could likely be even worse than all the death and suffering that is happening now. Trump, throughout the Wednesday press conference, claimed that coronavirus might “go away” and not return with a revenge in the fall– and that Redfield was exaggerated in a Washington Post short article published the day before on April 21.

Redfield, however, declined to sign up with Trump in his claim that the Post was reporting “fake news” and informed press reporters, “I’m precisely estimated in the Washington Post.” And Redfield didn’t back down from his warning that this fall and the 2020/2021 winter season could be even deadlier than what it happening now.

Press reporters desired to understand why Trump was revealing self-confidence that coronavirus wouldn’t return in the fall when his own health professionals were anticipating that it would, and Trump clearly resented their questions. Fauci declined to follow Trump down that bunny hole, stressing to reporters, “We will have coronavirus in the fall.

The early morning after journalism conference, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough (a former GOP congressman and outspoken Never ever Trump conservative) emphatically slammed Trump for unsuccessfully attempting to get his own health authorities to join him in non-scientific claims. Scarborough humorously informed fellow “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski that Trump’s comments were so discouraging that in order to soothe his nerves, he had to go on a Wednesday night Rolling Stones binge (Scarborough specifically pointed out the Stones’ timeless Exile on Main Street album of the early 1970 s).

Scarborough asserted, “( Trump’s) gut feeling is that (coronavirus) is not going to come back in the fall … However the influenza pandemic of 1918 was in fact more powerful in the fall … He still does not get it.”
