Earlier on Friday we reported that an employer of an NHS trust had actually called the BBC with issues about the provision of dress for staff during the coronavirus crisis.
He had asked the BBC for the phone numbers of Burberry and Barbour – two business which have become involved in making gowns – because he was concerned about supply shortages.
We need to clarify that the person worried is not the one in charge of an NHS trust but is part of a network of organisations assisting to source individual protective devices for some NHS trusts.
The error was triggered by a misunderstanding of the individual’s function in the fight versus the pandemic.
