Noah Fight Sr., the very first validated Clay County COVID-19 case, was released from the hospital on Friday after 47 days.
CLAY COUNTY, Fla.— For the first time in 47 days, Noah Battle Sr. will invest the night at home with his better half after he was launched from the healthcare facility on Friday.
” I am headed house,” Fight Sr. said. “I get to put my hands on my gorgeous spouse which’s the most amazing part of all this, having the ability to hug her and just touch her.”
Battle, a Marine Corps veteran and postal worker for 35 years, checked positive for COVID-19 on March 13 and was the first documented case in Clay County. His spouse Patricia Battle, who also checked favorable in March, brought him home from the healthcare facility on Friday.
For the past several weeks, his body has been fighting COVID-19
” I am a really healthy person,” Noah Battle said. “I don’t capture flus, I never had a cold that I can keep in mind, no pneumonia, I am not familiar with fevers, it was the fever that started. A loss of appetite, all I wished to do was beverage water.”
Patricia Fight recalls the moment she knew something was seriously incorrect.
” I took his temperature level, which at the time was, 103.4,” she said. “I came home on March 7, Saturday, and instantly he stated, ‘I need to go to the ER.'”
His condition decreased quickly.
He was tested at an Orange Park health center on March13 When he was intubated, it came back positive. At that point he had a breathing tube in and he was placed into a medically caused coma in the ICU.
The next early morning, Patricia Battle began feeling odd.
” It seemed like my face had lava on it, my face was simply hot,” she said. “It was just my face. I rapidly took my temp, it was 101.8.”
Patricia Battle likewise tested positive for novel coronavirus. She was hospitalized from March 17 until March 23.
” I was on the 3rd flooring, Noah was on the 5th flooring. It was throughout the time I remained in the health center, I got a call from the physician to do the DNR. I was one flooring away from my spouse and I could not get to him and I need to let him go,” she said. “That was the hardest part, simply not having the ability to see him.”
She wasn’t sure if her partner would survive.
” I had to think back to a time when Noah told me he never wanted to be on life assistance,” Patricia Fight stated. “He said, ‘If God is calling me house, that’s where I want to be, which’s where you need to desire me to be.'”
Patricia said she hoped and her prayers were answered. Now Noah is home recuperating and says he feels excellent.
” I am strolling with a walker,” he said. “I am discovering how to stroll once again after being on my back for so long. I lost a lot of muscle mass. I lost 47 pounds.”
According to the Florida Department of Health, Noah had contact with a verified COVID-19 case.
