Romney the only GOP senator not invited to join Trump’s coronavirus congressional group

President Donald Trump tapped every Republican senator to sign up with a congressional group aimed at reopening America in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak– other than Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah.

Romney, the celebration’s 2012 governmental candidate and a long time businessman, was the only GOP senator to vote to convict Trump in his impeachment trial this year. Romney voted to convict Trump on the abuse of power charge and to acquit on the obstruction of Congress charge.

More than 20 congressional Democrats were tapped to serve on the task force, including a few of the senators who voted to found guilty Trump.

Trump participated in call with the group on Thursday. The White Home stated in a press release that they discussed the required for more funding for the Paycheck Security Program, expanding access to COVID-19 screening and needed products, supply chains, the economy, surprise medical billing, differences in between vital and unnecessary workers, mental health and small company relief

” President Trump was pleased to hear such positive feedback from the members about the work that the administration is doing to keep America healthy and flourishing, and thanked them for their involvement,” the release stated.
