SANTA FE– Top state health officials have announced 7 extra deaths due to the COVID-19 outbreak, as the disease continues to damage northwest New Mexico. New state data shows Native Americans now make up 44%of the state’s total cases– up from 37.6%last week– despite just representing about 11%of the state’s total population.
With the state’s testing capacity expanding and the statewide infection rates showing indications of leveling off, Lujan Grisham stated Wednesday that state officials can start gradually reducing up on business restrictions.
